Have you or someone you love taken Pradaxa to reduce the risk of stroke and blood clots with respect to your heart arrhythmia (non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF)) and then developed excessive bleeding or hemorrhage? In April of 2013 the FDA added three new black box warnings, the most serious type of warning the FDA can give a drug, warning the public that Pradaxa can cause serious thrombotic or bleeding events, and that discontinuing Pradaxa without anti-coagulation can increase your risk of suffering a stroke.
Have you suffered a stroke while on Pradaxa or after discontinuation? Have you suffered from severe bleeding due to thrombocytopenia or low platelet count? Our experienced Pennsylvania drug litigation lawyers are currently reviewing cases against Boehringer Ingelheim, the manufacturer of Pradaxa. There is no cost for a case review by an experienced attorney at the Rieders Travis Law Firm. Our firm is located in Williamsport, PA, but we help people from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Talk to an experienced Pradaxa lawsuit attorney in Pennsylvania today.
Pradaxa was approved in October 2010 after the RE-LY clinical trial allegedly showed that Pradaxa had lower risk of stroke than Coumadin (warfarin.) However, because Pradaxa has no known antidote there is no way to control the bleeding that may occur as a side effect of the drug. However, the manufacturer continues to deny that the bleeding is unmanageable and claims Pradaxa poses no greater risk, despite the climbing adverse event reports compared with warfarin which has been the standard of care for over fifty years.
The Rieders Travis Law firm may be able to help you recover from Boehringer Ingelheim, the drug company that manufacturers Pradaxa. The manufacturer of Pradaxa has failed to warn about the serious thrombotic side effects. If you have taken Pradaxa and suffered from serious bleeding side effects, hemorrhage or stroke, call Cliff Rieders, Esquire, of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Waters & Dohrmann, (570) 505-5566 or email us now , to see whether your claim would be appropriate for filing as a new case. If you or a loved one has taken Pradaxa, contact us today to learn about your legal rights and the potential for recovery.
